In February 1949, Zorita sits in a NYC courtroom with her 10-foot rock python, and her 20 month-old daughter: “Tawny”.. She’d been arrested with ‘Cruelty To Animals’ by New York’s ASPCA; claiming Zorita taped the extremities of her snakes, before each of her performances.

She was released on $1500 bail. But all of her snakes were confiscated..
